Rack A · U01–02 · Windows app

Your Proxmox server, on your desk.

Proxmox Desk is a Windows app for Proxmox VE 9. Start, edit and open a console on any LXC container. Create an nginx web server or a netboot.xyz boot server from one form. See every device on your network, and publish pages with a drag-and-drop builder.

Slide rails extended

Pull the unit out and try it.

This is a simulation of the app running in your browser. Start and stop containers, type into a console, and scan a pretend network. It doesn't connect to anything.

Seven ports on the back.

Each part of the app is a port on the back of the unit.

Containers

Live CPU, memory and uptime for every LXC. Start, shut down, reboot or force stop. Change hostname, cores, memory, swap, DNS, start on boot and notes, grow the root disk, or delete it.

tpl · 02

Templates

See what's on each template storage, browse the Proxmox catalog, and download or delete templates in one click.

console · 03

Terminal

Console tabs for any running container, plus the node shell. A full terminal, not a web page in a frame.

www · 04

Web server

One form creates a Debian or Ubuntu container, installs nginx and connects it to the app. Check status, restart nginx, read the visitor log.

pxe · 05

Network boot

One form builds an Ubuntu 26.04 container running netboot.xyz and a proxy DHCP service. Your router keeps handing out addresses; any PC set to network boot gets the netboot.xyz menu.

lan · 06

Devices

Scan your LAN for every IP and MAC address, with vendor, reverse-DNS name, and which Proxmox container or VM owns each MAC. Give devices your own names.

site · 07

Site builder

Drag-and-drop page editor with ready-made business-plan sections. Preview at desktop, tablet and phone sizes, export HTML, or publish straight to your web server.

Connected in three steps.

  1. 1

    Install

Run Proxmox-Desk-Setup-0.1.0.exe and choose where to install it.

  2. 2

    Make an API token

In the Proxmox web UI, open Datacenter → Permissions → API Tokens → Add. Use root@pam, ID desk, and untick Privilege Separation. Or run this in the node shell:

pveum user token add root@pam desk --privsep 0
  3. 3

    Connect

Open Settings, enter your server address, Token ID root@pam!desk and the secret, then select Connect. The node shell needs root@pam username and password sign-in instead.

The installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen can show "Windows protected your PC." Select More info, then Run anyway. To confirm the file is the one published here, run this in PowerShell and compare it with the SHA-256 above:

Get-FileHash .\Proxmox-Desk-Setup-0.1.0.exe

Your settings stay on your PC in %APPDATA%\Proxmox Desk. Token secrets and passwords are encrypted with Windows DPAPI. The "allow self-signed certificate" option is meant for your LAN or a VPN; don't expose the Proxmox API to the internet.
